Mary Ann Schildknecht
(say: shilled-neck) is a native Californian, born and raised in Los
Angles. She studied art at San Diego State University.

Mary Ann pursued careers
as a designer in the fields of fashion, advertising and publishing.
In the late 70's she turned to watercolors and devoted herself to perfecting
her techniques in her San Francisco North Beach studio.
Over the following years, Mary Ann studied with many great watercolor artists including Zoltan Zabo, Frank Webb and Gerald Brommer. In 1989 Mary Ann moved to
the quaint waterfront town of Martinez, CA.
